Charnock News, Prayer & Needs

Charnock Online Project - Charnock institute of the Bible will be placing all of its classes, including languages, Online for anyone in the world with access to take classes free of charge. These classes do not receive credit from CIB since we will not monitor student progress. Still, the quality of the class, with its materials and grading, will be maintained.  Look for the site to open soon so that you can link to CIB Online and monitor the progress. We hope to see you soon.

Planting Bible Colleges around the world - Charnock Institute of the Bible and White Stone Missions are planting a Bible College in Nigeria in the next few months. The entire curriculum has been completed and is being readied to ship. We have students standing by awaiting the arrival of these items to begin their education. This is a dream-come-true for us. Below is the description of how we plan on proceeding and a display which we would love to set up in your church or ministry for a week or two so that you and your church family can see the classes designed for this project.

Charnock Institute of the Bible has completed its “College in a Box” for planting Bible colleges on the mission field. Planting Bible colleges anywhere & everywhere in the world is very possible with today’s technology. The Box is presently being displayed at churches in the area and contains the complete first year of class curriculum (with answer keys & tests) for the mission field College. The course are fully self-contained. This display can be placed at your Church or ministry for one or two weeks.  This fully Self-Contained program will be used to start Bible Colleges on any English speaking Mission Field.

How does it work? The college will use the existing building as its facility. The pastor, missionary, or their appointee will simply issue materials and grade the tests. Students will then be required to participate in ministry 10 hours per week, serving along side missionaries or church staff, thus actually benefiting their churches.

When does the program begin? We have students in Nigeria waiting even now for these Boxes to arrive in a few months.

What are the costs? For one box to be completed and shipped to Nigeria (costs will differ with locations) the total cost is roughly $1,000.  After a student completes the course, the next student comes in using the same books as the student before him with minor costs (less than $100) for replacement of tests and workbooks.

Comparison - There is not way to place missionaries on the mission field to educate students to become pastors for this price. We plan on using existing staff to work with students in the discipleship context which already exists. This addition of the college curriculum will take their discipleship to a whole new level.

How can I be involved?

  1. Prayer is already being offered; join us.
  2. We are sponsoring boxes for students; join us.
  3. We are displaying boxes for others to consider; join us.
  4. If you are fluent in Greek, Hebrew, Aramaic and Latin, join us (in writing future curriculum).
  5. If you have missionaries in the poorest parts of the world who could use this program, join us in having them contact us. (Must be an English speaking area!)
  6. If you would like to work with us in translating this program into Spanish, Russian, Arabic, Chinese, etc., join us. This is at present completely volunteer.
  7. Laptops - If you have used laptops lying around with wireless capability, you can donate them to this program and we will place them on a mission field. This will help both the College in a Box program and allow Classes at CIB Online to those with internet access.
  8. Charnock Online is coming soon; join us.

Library - The CIB Library at the Payette Campus is open!  This is a great help even in the internet age.

CHOIS Home School Convention was great. Sharing CIB is always a great time.

Radio Interviews Students have been interviewed on the radio about their Greek studies.  They spent an hour sharing insights from their Greek texts and the interviewer (Matt Slick) was impressed that he alone was using an English Bible.

Missions Opportunities are available to CIB students in several areas:

Nigeria "09"

We are teaming with White Stone Missions for this great opportunity. We plan on establishing an Independent Bible College in Nigeria.

Student Housing in the Payette area Houses and Rooms will be available along with beds, microwaves, etc. Please let us know if you have these things or would like to help out in some particular way.

We are expanding our Class Offerings in the Boise Area (Greek/Hebrew/Knowing God Classes) beginning immediately. Pray that we have enough interest/students (and support) to operate.  As we have full time students in the Boise area we will begin to offer our full "Knowing God" series of classes.

White Stone Book Store carries all the books we need for classes.

We are now offering classes in the Boise and Payette Idaho areas.

Payette Campus - This is our primary campus and main office(s) with all classes running regularly year-round.  Students may join other classes on line at another campus using the High Speed Internet at this campus.  Student Housing is available on a "First Come, First Served" basis.

Boise Campus - Most classes are offered in Boise.  Students may join classes on line at another campus using the High Speed Internet at this Campus.  For Student Housing please see Payette Campus.
